Hot-Foiled Floral Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a birthday card that came together around one of my "new" favorite techniques — hot foiling with the new Stampin' Hot Foil System. There's just something about the way silver foil catches the light against soft, hand-colored blooms that makes a card feel extra special, and this one is definitely going in my "keep for a special someone" pile.

The Design

I started by running the Garden Silhouette Hot Foil Die through the Stampin' Hot Foil System using Silver Stampin' Hot Foil on a soft Basic White cardstock panel. This die gives the most gorgeous all-over floral pattern — poppies, wildflowers, and delicate daisies tangled together — and the silver foil makes every petal and leaf outline shimmer.

Once the foiled panel was done, I got out my Stampin' Blends to bring the flowers to life:

  • Berry Burst for the deeper jewel-toned blooms
  • Bubble Bath for the soft blush pink poppies
  • Pumpkin Pie for warm little pops of color in the daisy centers
  • Darling Duckling for the sunny daisy middles
  • Granny Apple Green for the leaves and greenery

Coloring directly over the foiled lines is one of my favorite parts of this technique — the silver acts like a built-in outline, so the shading practically does itself.

For the sentiment, I foiled the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Die "happy birthday" in Light Pink Stampin' Hot Foil, onto a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock. The sentiment was cut out using the coordinating Classic Greetings die, and popped it up over the floral panel for a bit of dimension. A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels scattered throughout the flowers add just the right amount of sparkle without overwhelming the design.

Inside the Card

Inside, I kept things simple and soft so the focus stays on the sentiment. I stamped "Sending wishes for the happiest birthday" from the Framed All Around stamp set in Berry Burst ink, and added a couple of sweet little moths from the Fern & Flora stamp set, also in Berry Burst, tucked into the corner. A thin strip of Bubble Bath cardstock along the top and bottom edges ties the inside back to the foiled cover.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this card gives you some hot foiling inspiration for your next birthday project. Let me know in the comments if you try the technique — I'd love to see what you create!

Sending Wishes for the Happiest Birthday!

I'm excited to share this birthday card today, made using the Everyday Essentials Mix & Match Designer Series Paper along with pieces from the Meant For You and Sincerely Noted Mix & Match Ephemera collections.

For the front of the card, I started with one of the the gorgeous floral patterns from the Everyday Essentials Designer Series Paper as my base. To add dimension, I cut a scalloped circle from Vellum cardstock using the Scalloped Blooms dies, then layered it over the patterned paper to create a soft, frosted window effect. On top of that I placed a pretty floral bouquet die cut from the from the Meant For You Ephemera Pack, which really pops against the vellum backdrop. A few Pearlized Faceted Circles scattered around the bouquet add some sparkle and dimension. Finally, I finished the front with a cheerful "Happy Birthday!" banner from the Sincerely Noted Ephemera Pack.

Inside the card, I kept things simple and elegant with a clean white panel. I stamped the moths from the Fern & Flora stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink in the corners, giving it a delicate, nature-inspired touch. The sentiment, "Sending wishes for the happiest birthday," is from the Framed All Around stamp set, also stamped in Misty Moonlight to keep the color palette cohesive throughout.

I love how the soft blues and pops of pink and yellow come together for a card that feels both fresh and timeless. This one would be perfect for a friend, family member, or anyone who appreciates a touch of floral charm!
