Bloom Boutique Mother's Day Card

Soft florals, gentle color, and just a hint of dimension—this Mother’s Day card is all about delicate beauty.

I started with the lovely patterned paper from the Bloom Boutique Suite, letting the tiny scattered flowers create a light and airy background. It’s the perfect base for layering without needing anything too busy or heavy.

The focal point is a cluster of hand-colored blooms, brought to life using Watercolor Pencils and then softly blended with a Blender Pen. This technique gives the flowers that dreamy, painterly look while still keeping the stamped details crisp. I love how the soft peach, bright yellow, and touches of blue create a fresh spring palette.

To add a bit of interest and texture, I included the sweet Barely Blush 2026–2028 In-Color Butterflies. Their subtle shimmer and dimension give the card a little lift without taking away from the floral centerpiece.

The Barely Blush sentiment is kept soft and understated, allowing the florals to really shine while still sharing a heartfelt “Happy Mother’s Day.”

This card is a perfect reminder that simple techniques—like watercolor pencil blending—can create something truly elegant and meaningful.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today.

Charming Day Birthday

I am so pleased with how this card turned out, it is absolutely beautiful!

The idea for the card was inspired by a card Patty Bennett made using one of her water-coloring techniques.

The card starts with a Basic White cardstock card base, followed by a Strawberry Slush cardstock panel.

The top panel is Two-Tone Basic Black that has been embossed using the Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder.  After this panel was embossed, I used a sanding block to lightly sand some of the raised embossed areas.

The flowers are from the Charming Day dies and have been cut out using the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  Once cut out, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Strawberry Slush, Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green ink were used along with a Small Blending Brush to color the flowers. Once colored the flowers were lightly spritzed with water, to help the colors blend together, and then allowed to dry.

After the flowers had dried, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush was applied to only the flowers, not the leaves.

The flowers and leaves were adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Black Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Greetings for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.

Strawberry Slush gems from the Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems were added randomly to the card front.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

Blueberry Bunches Hello

Every August, the community that I live in holds a "Blueberry" Festival.  I thought since it is August it would be only fitting to make a blueberry card.

Blueberry Bushel cardstock forms the card base.

Mossy Meadow cardstock that has been embossed using a leaf embossing folder is the next panel.

The top panel has been water-colored using Fluid 100 Watercolor paper.  The blueberry design is from the Blueberry Bunches stamp set and has been stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink.

Using a Water Painter, the blueberries were colored using Blueberry Bushel, Blackberry Bliss and Petunia Pop ink.

Mossy Meadow ink was applied to the leaves using a Water Painter.

Pool Party ink was used for the background and was applied using a Water Painter.

The sentiment is from the Blueberry Bunches stamp set and has been stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink onto Basic White cardstock.  I tried stamping the sentiment directly onto the card front, however, I did not like the results that I got.

The Blueberry Bushel border around the sentiment is from the Unbounded Love dies.

Ombre Matte Decorative Dots were used randomly around the card front for accent.
One of the Blueberry Bushel stamps was used for the inside of the card.  The blueberry image was stamped onto Basic White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored using Stampin' Blends.
