Spooktacular Skull Halloween Card

Get ready for a little Halloween fun with this spooky skull card featuring the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper! The whimsical skull design makes a great focal point and does much of the work for creating this fun Halloween card.

I started with a Basic Black cardstock card base, followed by a layer of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then Spooktacular Designer Series Paper.

The circle was cut using the Spotlight on Nature Dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Oh My Fright stamp set in Basic Black Hybrid Ink. To add a little extra definition to the circle, I colored around the edges using Pumpkin Pie ink and a sponge dauber.

For a fun finishing touch, I added bats from the retired Glow-in-the-Dark Bats and Ghosts as accents.

I continued the Pumpkin Pie theme on the inside by adding a Pumpkin Pie cardstock panel.

The sentiment was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink, and the cloud of bats was stamped in Basic Black Hybrid Ink. Both images are from the Oh My Fright stamp set.

This card was a fun and simple way to let the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper take center stage while adding a few extra details to make the card my own.

A Spooktacular Frankenstein Halloween Card

There’s something about a classic Frankenstein that makes Halloween cards extra fun! This card features a fun, slightly spooky Frankenstein created with the bright and bold colors of the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper and Granny Apple Green cardstock.

For the card base, I started with Basic Black cardstock, followed by a layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock. The card front was then finished with Spooktacular Designer Series Paper.

One of my favorite details on this card is Frankenstein’s hair! I carefully cut the hair from a sheet of the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper and then adhered it to the card front using Basic Black Stampin’ Dimensionals. The added dimension helps the hair stand out from the card front.

The sentiment was created using the Spotlight on Nature Dies for the circle and the Oh My Fright stamp set for the “BOO to you” sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Hybrid Ink. To give the circle a little more definition, I colored around the edges using Basic Black ink and a Sponge Dauber.

A few Granny Apple Green Shimmering Dots were added for a touch of sparkle and an extra bit of Halloween fun.

I carried the Granny Apple Green color to the inside of the card with a Granny Apple Green cardstock panel. The sentiment was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink onto Basic White cardstock, while the fun cloud of bats was stamped in Basic Black Hybrid Ink. Both images are from the Oh My Fright stamp set.

I love how the inside continues the Halloween theme without competing with the fun Frankenstein on the front!

This card is a great example of how a little fussy cutting and a few layers of dimension can turn Designer Series Paper into the star of the card. Frankenstein is definitely ready to say “BOO to you!”
