Woodland Wonder Waterfall card

This is another fun card that I made to send to my grandson.  The card is a slimline card and will fit into a standard #10 envelope (4 1/8" x 9 1/2").  The single sheet Granny Apple Green card base has Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper (DSP) adhered to one side.

The "growing" tree was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto an 8 1/2" x 2 3/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. The five Basic White cardstock square panels that make up the "waterfall" effect were cut out using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes dies and then adhered to a 2 3/4" square piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock.

The tree has been colored with a Bronze Stampin' Blend.  Using the Stamparatus made it easy to line up the different sections of the tree and tree trunk.
The leaves were colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends.  The bird was colored with Light and Dark Seaside Spray, Light Real Red and Light Mango Melody Stampin' Blends.

The bunny was colored using Light Gray Granite and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.  The grass was colored using Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. The sentiment is from the Kangaroo & Company stamp set.
The birds from the Free as a Bird stamp set were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Light and Dark Seaside Spray, Light Real Red and Light Mambo Melody Stampin' Blends. A Light So Saffron Stampin' Blend was used to color the flowers.  The tree branch and leaves were colored as described above.  The sentiment is from the Kangaroo & Company stamp set.

Light and Dark Cinnamon Cider and Light and Dark Daffodil Delight were used to color the owl.
The raccoon poking his head out of the tree was colored using Light and Dark Smoky Slate and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.  For the bird sitting on the nest, Light and Dark Seaside Spray, Light Real Red and Light and Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blends were used.

The little mouse is from the Special Someone stamp set.  The stamps in the Special Someone set are 2 step stamps.  One stamp is the background and the other stamp is the detail.  The mouse was stamped in Smoky Slate ink and then the detailed stamp was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The detailed part of the flowers were stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and the background of the flowers were stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink.  The grass was colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment is from Kangaroo & Company.
The squirrel poking his head out of the tree was colored using Light Basic Black, Light Smoky Slate, Light and Dark Cinnamon Cider and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends.

The Raccoon with the butterflies is from the Special Someone stamp set. The Raccoon was stamped in Smoky Slate ink and then Tuxedo Black Memento ink for the detailed stamp.  The sentiment on this panel is from the Darling Donkeys stamp set.
The squirrel holding the balloon is also from the Special Someone stamp set.  The squirrel was stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink and then the detailed stamp was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The balloon was stamped in Seaside Spray, the detailed stamp in Misty Moonlight and the string in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The sentiment is from the Kangaroo & Company stamp set.

Because of the length of this card, in order to make the waterfall mechanism work, the pull mechanism needs to be 12 1/2" long. To make the mechanism a 9 1/2" x 2 7/8" Granny Apple Green cardstock panel was scored on one end at 3/4" and this end was adhered to a 3 3/4" x 2 7/8" Granny Apple Green panel at the score line (overlapping and adhering 3/4" of the long strip to 3/4" of the shorter strip).  You should now have a 12 1/2" x 2 7/8" strip that has been scored at 8 3/4". Continue scoring and folding at 9 1/2", 10 1/4", 11" and 11 3/4".

Adhere the "growing" tree panel to the long unscored portion of the Granny Apple Green panel.  Adhere a square panel at each of the fold/score lines.

Using a 1/2" x 4 1/4" strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock, adhere 1/2" on each end of the strip to the card base about 3 1/2" up from the bottom of the card.  It is best to use Tear & Tape Adhesive for this because it is very strong. You need to leave the rest of this strip free for the mechanism to slide up and down.

Slide the end of the panel that has the base of the tree trunk and bunny on it through the strip that you just adhered to the card front.  Fold the panels down at the fold lines starting with the panel that was scored at 8 3/4".  Put a 2" strip of Tear & Tape on the front of the Granny Apple Green 1/2" wide strip and adhere the back of the last panel to the Granny Apple Green strip.

Using the Detailed Trio Punch make a hole in the center of the pull mechanism, below the tree trunk.  Thread a 6" piece of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim through the hole and tie in a knot (see picture above for detail). You should be able to pull this cord to make the waterfall card work.  The "To an Amazing Grandson" sentiment is from the A Grand Kid stamp set. The sentiment was cut out using the smallest square Stitched Shapes die and adhered to a 1 1/4" square piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock.  The sentiment square was then adhered to the card front.

I would love it if you made me your Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  You will also earn reward points towards free stamps when you order.
