A Spooktacular Card Inspired by Frightfully Fun

Halloween is creeping closer, and I could not resist playing with one of my favorite new suites — Frightfully Fun. This card came together after I spotted a sample on the online gallery for the Frightfully Fun Suite Collection, and I just had to make my own spin on it!

I started with a Basic Black cardstock card base, then went all in on that gorgeous Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper — the moody gray spiderweb pattern paired with the orange starry-night print is such a good combo for this time of year.

For the spooky details, I pulled out the Web of Fun dies to cut those delicate spiderweb corners and a glittery black spider creeping across the front. Then I die cut the tag-shaped top panel from the Frightfully Fun DSP using the Oh My Fright dies — and used that same die set for the bare branch tree, the moon, the drifting clouds, and the sweet little ghost peeking out from behind the trunk. I love how much you can build from one die set!

To finish it off, I stamped my "Trick or Treat" sentiment onto Basic Gray cardstock with Basic Black Hybrid ink for a crisp, dark finish. A few tiny bats and ghosts from the Adhesive-Backed Bats, Ghosts, and Dots got tucked into the branches for extra whimsy, and using Wink of Stella the spider even got a little sparkle.

Pop the card open and the fun keeps going! I adhered a panel of Frightfully Fun DSP to the card base, then layered a Basic White panel on top for the greeting. The "Happy Halloween" sentiment and that flurry of bats swooping across the inside are both from the Oh My Fright stamp set, and a strip of Frightfully Fun DSP along the bottom ties the inside back to the front. Such a fun surprise for whoever gets to open this one!

This project was such a fun excuse to dig into the Frightfully Fun Suite, and I already have ideas brewing for round two. If you give this one a try, I'd love to see it — tag me so I don't miss it!
