Mother's Day 2025 Gift

These purses were this years' Mother's Day gift for the ladies in our local hospitals Long Term Care Unit.

The Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) was a freebie's from the Sale-A-Bration promotion and is no longer available.

The flower in the middle was made using the back side of the DSP that was used to make the purse, along with the new Pretty Florals dies.

The purses were made following a video found on Pinterest, which is linked here.

When I made the purses, I used a 12" x 12" DSP sheet and cut it down to 8 1/2" x 11".  Save the left over pieces, you will use them to make the flower, purse latch and handle.

The DSP was scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" on the short side.  On the long side, the DSP was scored at 1/2", 2 5/8", 4 3/4" and 6 1/4".

The purse latch was cut from the DSP at 5 1/4" x 1/2" and scored on both ends at 1/2".

For the purse handle, the DSP was cut at 12" x 1/2".
Here's a look at each of the colors that I made the purses.

The purses were filled with an assortment of Lindt Chocolates.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today!

Mother's Day gift

Along with the cards I made in the previous post I also made little handbags for the ladies of the Long Term Care Unit.
These handbags were made using the Best Dressed Suite and they came out adorable.
The handbags were made using the All Dressed Up dies along with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. The dies cut out and embossed the paper so nicely, it was easy to put the handbag together.
The straps, buckles and pocket were made using coordinating cardstock and either gold or silver foil.
Because I was putting rather heavy items in the bags, I attached everything together with Tear and Tape Adhesive.
Each of the handbags were filled with a packet of Kleenex, Chapstick and Gold Bond hand cream.  The sentiment on the pocket of the handbag is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set.
The coordinating tassel was attached on to the handbag strap using a piece of 1/8" Mint Macaron Sheer Linen ribbon.
As you can see from the side/back view of the handbag, the detail provided by the All Dressed Up dies is amazing.
