Sailing Into Birthday Wishes with the Scenic Coast Suite

I had the best time at the virtual Scenic Coast Craft Class, and I'm so excited to share the card we made together! If you love the ocean, dramatic coastlines, and a touch of nautical charm, this project is for you. It features the gorgeous Scenic Coast Suite Collection from Stampin' Up!, and it came together beautifully with layers of soft blues, a glowing sunset, and little sailboats bobbing on the waves.

About the Design

This card starts with soft layers of Balmy Blue Sunset Shimmer Vellum cardstock that set the mood before you even get to the scene itself — it really gives that hazy, coastal-morning feeling. Layered on top is the star of the show: a stamped Gray Granite rock archway, inspired by the natural sea arches you find along rugged coastlines.

Underneath the arch, a rich Strawberry Slush sunset peeks through, reflecting down into the gently stamped waves below. Two little sailboats, stamped in a deep Gorgeous Grape, glide along the water, while a trio of seagulls soar overhead in a soft, glittery Sunset Shimmer Vellum. A crisp Happy Birthday sentiment banner from the Banner Sayings Bundle sits front and center, stamped in a bold Strawberry Slush that pops against all those cool blues.

To finish it off, I added a few sparkly enamel-style Sunset Sparkle Sequins — just enough shimmer to catch the light without overwhelming the scene.

Open It Up

The inside of the card carries the coastal theme through beautifully:

On the inside of the card, a lovely sentiment from the Framed All Around stamp set reads "Sending wishes for the happiest birthday," stamped in that same rich Strawberry Slush. A pair of little sailboats sail along the bottom, echoing the front of the card and tying the whole design together.

Why I Love This Suite

The Scenic Coast Suite is one of those collections that feels equally at home on birthday cards, thinking-of-you cards, or even just-because notes. The combination of the rock arch stamp, sailboats, birds, and wave images gives you so much flexibility to build your own coastal scene — no two cards ever come out quite the same, even when we're all working from the same craft class!
