Waves of Inspiration Birthday

I have had this stamp set since it was early released back in February.  To be totally honest I wasn't sure how to do the ocean waves.  Recently I saw a card made by Peri Beal and was inspired to get this stamp set out and give it a try.  I am so glad that I did.

The front panels are Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party cardstock have been adhered onto a Thick Basic White card base.

The wave was stamped in VersaMark ink and then heat embossed using White Embossing Powder onto the Pool Party cardstock top panel.  Once embossed a Blending Brush was used to apply Pool Party ink all over the wave and a little bit above the wave.  Next, Bermuda Bay ink was applied to the middle of the wave, followed by a smaller amount of Pacific Point.  The lastly, just a tiny amount of Night of Navy ink was added to the very center of the wave.  Once all the colors were added, Pool Party was brushed over the entire wave one last time.

The birds are from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and have been stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

The clouds are from the Waves dies and have been cut out using Basic White cardstock. The cloud in front was adhered onto the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The pelican from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink.  The pelican's beak and feet were colored using a Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends.  The pelican's head was colored using a Light So Saffron Stampin' Blends.  The pelican's body was colored using a Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.

The piling the pelican is standing on was also stamped in Smoky Slate ink. The piling was then colored in Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.  The rope around the piling was colored in Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. The pelican and piling were cut out using the coordinating Waves dies.

The sentiment is from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and has been stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The label is from the Waves dies.  Once cut out Linen Thread was tied to both ends of the label and then wrapped around the card front panel and adhered.

The rocks are from the Oceanfront stamp set and were stamped in Soft Suede ink and then fussy cut.  The rocks have been adhered onto the card front panel using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set and has been stamped in Night of Navy ink.
