Christmas Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the team Stamp It Group's Christmas Holiday Blog Hop.  Whether you started the blog hop with my blog or "hopped" over to my blog from one of my teammates blog, I am happy you stopped by.
Can you believe that it is almost Christmas?  I love Christmas, it is my favorite time of the year and it seems like this year has just flown by.  In my opinion, Christmas is one of the most beautiful and festive times of the year.  The Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog has so many great ideas in it, I had a hard time deciding what I was going to make for this Blog Hop.  However, since I live in Alaska I had to do an Alaska themed Christmas card.
How fun this card was to make.  The snow line was made by tearing a piece of masking paper and adhering it to the bottom of the Whisper White front panel with the torn edge facing the inside of the panel. The Aurora Borealis was made by sponging Dapper Denim along the torn edge of the masking paper, the colored area is about 1/2" wide.  I repeated this same process using the following colors in this order Emerald Envy, Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Elegant Eggplant and Island Indigo ink.  As I applied each ink color I slightly overlapped/blended each color a little bit with the color below it. Once all of the Aurora colors have been added, remove the masking paper and color the "snow" using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen.
The igloo was made by lightly tapping a Soft Sky Ink pad to the raised side of the Brick Wall Impressions Embossing folder and then inserting Whisper White cardstock, cut to 5 1/2" x 3", into the embossing folder and running it through the Big Shot. Next, cut out the “igloo” using the largest Layering Circle Framelits Die, placing the die 2/3 of the way over the cardstock and running it through the BigShot.  The "igloo" is adhered to the cardfront panel using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Eskimo was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  It was colored with Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers and then cut out with the Cookie Cutter punch.  The Eskimo was adhered to the card front panel using Fast Fuse Adhesive.
The front panel was then adhered onto a Whisper White card base, using Fast Fuse Adhesive.
I also had to make these darling Santa earrings.  They are made with the same Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and the Cookie Cutter punch as the Eskimo.
Check out this video on how to make the Santa Earrings.
