This cute little gift bag was made for the ladies that are residents of the Long Term Care Unit at the hospital where I work at.
It was inspired by a gift bag I saw on Pinterest that was made
by Debra Harrison.
To make this gift bag you need a two sheets of 6" x 6"
Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Score at 1" along the top of the DSP.
If your paper has a design, make sure you have the DSP in the right direction, so when you fold the DSP over to make the top flap the design will be facing the correct direction.
Score the other three sides at 1 1/2".
Once scored, fold and burnish with a bone folder along all of the score lines.
Fold over the top flap to the front side of the DSP and adhere to card front.
Cut one of the sheets along the bottom score lines, leaving just the center flap, see picture above.
On the other sheet, cut horizontally along the score line to the vertical score line, see picture above.
Overlap the bottom flaps of both sheets of DSP and adhere together.
Using a small hole punch, punch two holes on each side of the top flap.
Next, thread a 11" piece of ribbon through the holes on each side to make the handles. The ribbon was then tied in a knot and adhered to the gift bag with a Mini Glue Dot, see picture above. You could also tie a knot on each end of the ribbon after you have threaded it through the holes.
Fold up the bottom flaps and adhere to the side panels of the gift bag.
Here's a side view of the completed gift bag.
A small hole was punched in the upper left-hand corner of the sentiment label and Tahitian Tide ribbon was threaded through the hole and then tied into a bow. The label was adhered to the gift bag using adhesive.
The completed gift bag measures approximately 3 1/2" tall x 3" wide x 1 1/2" deep. Four Lindt Chocolate Balls were placed in the bag. The bag could easily hold at least six of the chocolate balls.
