Welcome to the Team Stamp It Groups Christmas Holiday Theme Blog Hop!
Whether you hopped onto my blog from one of my teammates or started with my blog, I'm awfully glad you "hopped" by.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner, but it truly is.
This O Holy Night luminary was made using Vellum, the Night Divine dies and the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder along with the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The Vellum was cut at 11" x 5 1/2" and scored on the 11" side at 1/4", 2 7/8",
5 1/2", 8 1/8", and 10 3/4".
Once scored, the Vellum was dry embossed using the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. Because the paper is bigger than the embossing folder, I embossed half of the card at a time.
Using the sheet of O Holy Night DSP that has the house silhouettes on it, cut off
1 3/8" from the bottom edge. After the bottom 1 3/8" has been removed, fussy cut around the houses.+
Next, cut the house silhouette piece to 11" and score at 1/4", 2 7/8", 5 1/2",
8 1/8" and 10 3/4".
Once scored, adhere the bottom edge of the house silhouette piece to the inside bottom edge of the embossed Vellum piece, matching both pieces up at
the score lines.
The star was cut out using Gold Foil Sheet along with the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder with the coordinating dies. The star was adhered onto the front of the luminary using Stampin' Seal.
The stable was cut out using Crumb Cake cardstock. Before cutting out the stable, Crumb Cake ink was rubbed onto the cutting side of the stable die and then ran through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine to give the stable a woodsy look. The stable was adhered onto the center of the luminary using Tear and Tape Adhesive.
Cut out the rest of the manger scene using Basic Black cardstock and the Night Divine dies. The shepherds were cut away from the manager scene to allow them to be used elsewhere on the luminary. Adhere the manger scene to the luminary using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the 1/4" flaps together, by overlapping each flap edge to the first fold line using Tear and Tape Adhesive.
Here's a video showing the O Holy Night Luminary in action. A battery operated tea light was used inside the center of the luminary to light it up.
When I created this post the items used to make this luminary were still available and can be purchased using the supply list below.
With the Last Chance Products Sale going on right now a lot of the last chance products are selling out quickly and are available only while supplies last.
