Easter Theme Blog Hop

Welcome to the Team Stamp It Groups Easter Theme Blog Hop!

Whether you hopped onto my blog from one of my teammates or started with my blog, I'm awfully glad you "hopped" by.
This little Easter Basket was made using the Country Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Easter Bunny Bundle.

To make this basket you will need the following:

6" x 6" piece of DSP
1/2" x 6" piece of DSP for the handle, you will need two
1" x 6" piece of Basic White cardstock for the border around the handle, you will need two
3" x 1 1/2" piece of DSP for cut out two circles

This style of basket has been around for a long time, but this is the first time I have made it.  I found the basket to be quick and easy to make.

This is the template that I used:

Once cut out, the basket template will look like this.
There are lots of tutorials for this style of basket and I used this one by Dawn Griffith.

I did change a couple things from what Dawn showed on her video.
Using the second to the smallest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies, the circle was folded in half and adhered over the side tabs to hide the staple on both sides of the basket.  This was done before the handles were adhered to the basket.

Also the lid to the basket was not used.
If you look below the handle, you can see the half circle.

The Basic White border around the handle was cut from the Scalloped Contours dies.
Here's a look at the basket from another angle.

The Basic White tag was cut out using the Something Fancy dies.

The bunny, carrot, Easter eggs and butterfly are from the Easter Bunny stamp set and have been stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then colored using Stampin' Blends Markers.

The bow was made using Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
And a look at the basket from the top down.

The finished basket, including the handle, is approximately
3" long x 1 3/4" wide x 4" tall.
