Christmas Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to Team Stamp It Groups Christmas Holiday Blog Hop! Whether you hopped onto my blog from one of my teammates or started here with my blog, I'm awfully glad you "hopped" by.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I love all the beautiful lighted trees, the decorations and the hope of a white Christmas.

When I saw the Trimming the Town Suite I knew I had to have it for two reasons! The first reason, it just looked so hometown Christmassy to me! The second reason was if you purchase the Coming Home stamp set individually or as part of a bundle or suite collection, $3 will be donated to charities devoted to adoption, foster care and infertility. It was a win-win no matter how I looked at it.
What I liked the most about this set, besides it being just too stinking cute, was the cards went together quick and easy using the Coming Home stamp set with the Home Together dies, along with the coordinating
Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper (DSP).
For this card I used one of the new Blending Brushes, which will be available on January 5, 2021 in the new 2021 Mini Catalog, to color the Misty Moonlight night sky. The star on the tall tree is an embellishments that is part of this suite.
This card was made using the Heartwarming Hugs DSP from the Heartwarming Hugs Suite was used as the base panel.  The largest heart in the Stitched Be Mine die set was used for the heart. After the heart was cut out using the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, the Whisper White panel was embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing folder.  The Winter Snow panel was then adhered on to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. The house and large tree were also adhered to the card front using dimensionals.
The curvy snow line for this card was made using one of the curvy dies from the Home Together die set. The main house was adhered to the card base using multipurpose liquid glue and the additions to the house were adhered to the main house using dimensionals. The tall tree in the foreground was also adhered with dimensionals.
This card was inspired by a card I saw being made by Jeanne Smithwick on World Cardmaking day.  Here's the link to her video. The Whisper White panel was embossed using the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder.  The stitched circle was made using the 3" circle die from the Stitched Shapes die set.
The sentiments on all of the cards were cut from one of the sheets of the Trimming the Town DSP.  The wreath is a die from the Home Together dies. The center of the wreath was cut using a 1/4" punch.  All of the cards have been embellished with adhesive-backed Snowflakes.
VW Bug coordinating envelopes for each of the cards.
The inside of the cards.
The cards fit in this handmade gift box that has been tied with Metallic Mesh ribbon.  Using 11 3/4" x 8" cardstock score the box on the long side at 1", 5 3/8", 6 3/8", 10 3/4".  On the short side score at 1" and 7".  Cut the score marks on the long side to the 1" short side score mark to make the side flaps.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my project, the items used to make these cards and the gift box are available in my online store.

Mother's Day Card

I made these Mother's Day cards for the residents of the Long Term Care Unit of the hospital that I work at.  They are Z fold cards and were super easy and quick to make.  The inspiration for the cards came from a card made by Shannean Moncrieff

Measurements and supplies used to make this card:
11" x 4 1/4" cardstock, scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4"
5 3/8" x 4 1/8" Designer Series Paper
2 5/8" x 4 1/8" Designer Series Paper, you will need 2 this size
7 1/2" x 3 3/4" cardstock, scored at 3 3/4", this will make a 3 3/4" square card.

Fold the 11" x 4 1/4" cardstock in half at the 5 1/2" score line. Fold the card back onto itself at the 2 3/4" score line.  This will make the "Z".  Adhere the 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper to the card base.  Adhere the 3 3/4" square card to the center of the card back panel, making sure the 3 3/4" square card opens on the left hand side, with the fold on the right hand side. Adhere a doily to the center of the 3 3/4" square card front.  Adhere the oval that is from the Stitched Shapes framelits dies and is stamped Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the Suite Sentiments stamp set onto the center of the doily.  The inside sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and "Happy Mother's Day" from the Oh So Succulent stamp set. Adhere the vine that was cut using the Flourish thinlit dies. I cut out two vines, one for around the top and one for around the bottom of the oval. The flowers were cut from the Botanical Builder framelits dies. You will need two larger flowers and five smaller flowers.  Use a sponge dauber to add a bit of color to the center of the smaller flowers. Give the flowers dimension by using the rounded end (not the pointy end) of your paper piercer and the piercing pad to apply pressure to the center of each of the flowers. Add a small flower to the center of the larger flowers using a mini glue dot.  Adhere the flowers around the vine using mini glue dot.  Each of the flowers has a Rhinestone jewel in the center.  Some of the items I used will be retiring soon, so don't wait too long to order.
