Mother's Day Card

I made these Mother's Day cards for the residents of the Long Term Care Unit of the hospital that I work at.  They are Z fold cards and were super easy and quick to make.  The inspiration for the cards came from a card made by Shannean Moncrieff

Measurements and supplies used to make this card:
11" x 4 1/4" cardstock, scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4"
5 3/8" x 4 1/8" Designer Series Paper
2 5/8" x 4 1/8" Designer Series Paper, you will need 2 this size
7 1/2" x 3 3/4" cardstock, scored at 3 3/4", this will make a 3 3/4" square card.

Fold the 11" x 4 1/4" cardstock in half at the 5 1/2" score line. Fold the card back onto itself at the 2 3/4" score line.  This will make the "Z".  Adhere the 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper to the card base.  Adhere the 3 3/4" square card to the center of the card back panel, making sure the 3 3/4" square card opens on the left hand side, with the fold on the right hand side. Adhere a doily to the center of the 3 3/4" square card front.  Adhere the oval that is from the Stitched Shapes framelits dies and is stamped Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the Suite Sentiments stamp set onto the center of the doily.  The inside sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and "Happy Mother's Day" from the Oh So Succulent stamp set. Adhere the vine that was cut using the Flourish thinlit dies. I cut out two vines, one for around the top and one for around the bottom of the oval. The flowers were cut from the Botanical Builder framelits dies. You will need two larger flowers and five smaller flowers.  Use a sponge dauber to add a bit of color to the center of the smaller flowers. Give the flowers dimension by using the rounded end (not the pointy end) of your paper piercer and the piercing pad to apply pressure to the center of each of the flowers. Add a small flower to the center of the larger flowers using a mini glue dot.  Adhere the flowers around the vine using mini glue dot.  Each of the flowers has a Rhinestone jewel in the center.  Some of the items I used will be retiring soon, so don't wait too long to order.

Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Team Stamp It Group's Mother's Day Theme Blog Hop.
Whether you started the blog hop with my blog or "hopped" over to my blog from one of my teammates blog, I am happy you stopped by.
I love the Oh So Succulent stamp set and matching framelits dies. The Oh So Succulent stamp set is available as a bundle, which includes 30 photopolymer stamps and 17 framelits dies, or the set can be purchased individually.  The sentiment on the inside of the card was stamped using the First Sight stamp set with Always Artichoke ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the oval Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.
The card base is made using Whisper White cardstock with Sweet Sugarplum, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Mint Macaron cardstock and Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper for the panels.  The Sweet Sugarplum accents on the sides of the center panels are made using the border die from the Flourish Thinlits dies. The basket on the front panel is made with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cardstock and is cut out using the Basket Builder Framelits Dies. The succulents in the basket were stamped on to Mint Macaron cardstock using Always Artichoke ink and cut out using the Succulent Framelits dies. The tips of the succulents were colored with Sweet Sugarplum Stampin' Write Marker.  The flowers were stamped on to Whisper White cardstock using Sweet Sugarplum ink and cut out using the Succulent Framelits dies. The Lace Doilies underneath the basket is from the Falling in Love Suite that is featured in the 2017 Occasions Catalog.
This trifold card is really easy and fun to make.  Using a 12" x  5 1/2" sheet of cardstock, score at 2", 4", 8" and 10".  Measure up 1 1/2" from the bottom edge and using your paper trimmer cut from the 2" score line to the 10" score line.  Repeat this same cut 1 1/2" from the top edge of the card.

The lighted window box was made using Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and the Window Box Thinlits dies.  The flower was made using the Succulent Framelits dies and Old Olive and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock with a Rhinestone jewel in the center of the flower.  The box is wrapped with the Whisper White Succulent Garden 3/8" ribbon that comes in a combo pack with 3/8" Sweet Sugarplum ribbon.
Most of the items I used on this blog hop are on the retiring list.  If you are interested in any of the products I used to make the card or lighted window box, I would recommend placing your order sooner rather than later.  Many of the items are only available while supplies last and are selling out quickly.

Congratulations Pauline Vaughn!
