Happy Memorial Day from the Farm!

I don't usually post personal things but thought I would share a little bit of what we have been doing this past week. We are at our family farm.  It is such a fun place to spend time at. When we bought the farm it was in serious disrepair, we are slowly restoring it to its former glory.  We have a lot of work that needs to be done, but it's fun work.  Right now we are working on one of the out buildings.

We are not sure what this building was originally intended for, we suspicion it was possibly used to milk cows.  If you are familiar with old farms and think you might know what this building was used for, let me know in the comments below.

When we bought the farm the picture below is what the out building looked like, except there were tall shrubs in front of the building.  The shrubs were growing so close to the walls that we had to cut them down in order to be able to remove the rotten siding.

We removed all of the rotten interior wood and siding, leaving what wood we could salvage from the original building.  The rotten framing was replaced with new wood.  The siding was, for the most part, not salvageable except for one partial wall. The building has cinder blocks for the first three feet and then wood for the rest of the wall.
It is definitely a work in progress. We are hoping to have the siding on before we head back home.  We'll see.

There were also lots of ants.  My grandson built a place for the ants to go, so they would not get in the out building any longer.
He said he needed to build something for the ants to chew on besides the shed.  He was pretty sure it was going to work. 😉

Hope you have a Happy Memorial Day!
Never forget the sacrifices others have made to protect our freedom!
