Welcome to Team Stamp It Groups Father's Day Blog Hop! Whether you hopped onto my blog from one of my teammates or started here
with my blog, I'm awfully glad you "hopped" by.
The card for this blog hop was made using the By the Dock stamp set along with the coordinating Dockside dies. I love the By the Dock stamp set and it's coordinating dies. The whole set is just plain fun!
This card will go to the gentlemen of our local hospitals Long Term Care Unit.
The dock and rowboat were stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso ink, then colored with Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends along with Dark Cherry Cobbler for the trim on the rowboat. The "sandy beach" was stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. The little grassy areas were colored with Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. The cattail and grassy mound was cut out of Mossy Meadow cardstock. The cattail "flower" was colored using Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends. The sitting frog was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink onto Old Olive cardstock. The fish and the flying seagulls were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The fish was colored with Light Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends and the water around the fish was colored with Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Write Marker. For the sky, I used a sponge dauber and Whisper White craft ink and made small, oblong circles to give the appearance of clouds. All of the scenery was cut out using the coordinating Dockside dies. The Happy Father's Day sentiment is from the Geared Up Garage stamp set. The sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso ink and then cut out with the coordinating Garage Gears dies. Once cut out, I sponged around the sentiment with Early Espresso ink.
This card was made as a quasi Bendi fold card. "Quasi" because usually the Bendi fold card has two sections that are bent together onto the card front, this card has only one section. The "water" was made using Blueberry Bushel cardstock cut in a partial "S" shape. The water waves were stamped using Blueberry Bushel ink. The "water" was attached onto the Balmy Blue cardstock front using Tear & Tape adhesive. The fish and jumping frog were attached using mini glue dots so that they stuck out from the card a little bit.
For the back of the card, the sentiment is from the By the Dock stamp set. The sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso ink and was cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
The oars that come with the Dockside dies have so much detail, they look like real wood grain oars. The oars were cut out using Crumb Cake cardstock and then lightly brushed over using a Stamping Sponge and Early Espresso ink to bring out the "grain".
