Christmas in July Blog Hop

This Star Fold card was so fun to make, the hardest part was figuring out how to interlock the flaps together to keep the card closed.
The final size on this card is 6" x 6", but you will need a 12" x 12" piece of solid colored cardstock and Designer Series Paper.  Using a pencil and the 12" x 12" piece of cardstock mark one side of the cardstock at the 6" point and draw the line down the page about 2".
Using a ruler and pencil draw a line from the right lower corner to the center line you just drew making sure the line is 12" long.  Repeat for the left hand side.
Cut the cardstock along these two lines making a triangle.
Mark the center point (6") of each of the three sides of the triangle.
Using these marks you will now score from the center mark on one side to the center mark on the other side.  Repeat on the other two sides.  When you are finished the scored lines should make a triangle.
Using the score lines you just made, score the triangle again 1 3/4" from the lines you just scored.
With the paper laying flat, fold the inner score lines toward the card center and fold out the outer score lines away from the card center, making a peak and valley fold
For this card I used Garden Green cardstock for the base and This Christmas Designer Series Specialty Paper for the accent.  The embellishment was made using the Peace this Christmas stamp set, which is available in both wood mount and clear mount. I colored the pine bough stamp using Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker.  The flower, berry and leaf stamp was colored with the Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers and then stamped the images several times onto Very Vanilla cardstock, re-coloring the stamp between each time I stamped the image.  After I had stamped the layers, I fussy cut out the pine bough and adhered it onto the card base using a Stampin' Dimensional.  The following layer I cut out the flower, the leaves and berries and adhered them onto the top of the pine bough with a Mini Glue Dots.  The next layer I only cut out the flower and the berries and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots.  The last layer, I only cut the flower out and adhered it to the rest of the layers with glue dots.  For the final step, I squeezed the petals together on the top flower layer to give the flower a little dimension.
