Welcome to the Stamp It Group Father's Day Blog Hop. I am glad you stopped by and hope you enjoy the card I have to share with you.
This Father's Day card was made using the Picture Perfect Photopolymer stamp set. I love this stamp set, not only does it contain this Starfish stamp but also a rose stamp and a hummingbird stamp. All of the stamps in this set are two or three step stamps so the designs really pop. To make the sand, sponge the Whisper White cardstock front panel with Crumb Cake ink. The sand was then stamped with Soft Suede ink using the scattered dots stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, which comes in both wood mount and clear mount. The water was sponged first with Pool Party ink and then lightly sponged over with Lost Lagoon ink. Using Whisper White cardstock, stamp the first Starfish stamp layer using Pumpkin Pie ink. The second Starfish layer is stamped in So Saffron ink. Fussy cut the starfish and sponge the cut edges with Pumpkin Pie ink. "Finger" curl the arms of the Starfish. Using about 12" of linen thread, wrap the thread into a circle and intertwine the thread with the arms of the Starfish. The Starfish is adhered to the card front using three Stampin' dimensionals stacked on top of each other and placed in the center of the Starfish body. The Happy Father's Day sentiment is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer stamp set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon ink. The back panel is Lost Lagoon cardstock adhered to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base. To finish the card I adhered three small Rhinestone Jewels to the "sand".
